Herding Cats

I moved an ottoman into the bedroom by the bed because Claude cannot jump that high anymore. He will just stand by the bed and meow for me to pick him up and place him on it. Look what happened? Max thinks I moved a custom bed into the bedroom for him. I cannot very well tell Max not to sleep there. He is a diabetic and, therefore,...umm...special. There is no room for Claude to use it for a stepping stool. What should I do? Move another ottoman in?

Blinged Up Bracelet

Andrea started a trend last weekend when she designed a bracelet for Mema. Andrea wanted it to be 'gaudy and flashy'. Well, it was and Mema has been wearing it ever since. Unfortunately, it has started a trend and Mema is taking orders for bracelets now. She had me make a similar one for the lady that does her hair. Please cast your eyes on the latest fashion rage in retirement centers.

It Takes a Thief

Well, the little thief has been up to it again. Those who are around me daily know that I am very 'forgetful' mostly because while I am doing one thing, I am thinking about the 'next' thing that I am going to be doing. This morning I KNEW I made myself a piece of toast and had even taken a bite out of it but I could not find it anywhere. Finally, I resolved to myself that I had eaten the entire piece and had forgotten it. So I went about my way. Claude came and got me and acted like there was something I needed to look at. I followed him and he took me to this....Nigel had gotten my toast and apparently did not want it so he left it. Claude did not steal it. He is 16 years old and can no longer jump. The look on his face says it all "Mom, that kitten must go!" But then on the other hand, maybe not.

WE Channel Friday, March 28

Andrea will be on television 8pm Friday, March 28 on WE channel in a program entitled 'Women on Death Row'. Look for the girl that looks like the one in the picture. That's Andrea! No, she is not on death row, thank heavens! She is just reporting on someone that is.

GoodBye SherriLou

We have been having lots of 'drama' at work lately because we have major budget problems. Some of them are self-inflicted. Some are outside of our control. What it all boils down to is that we are cutting positions. One of my friends, lost her position but fortunately, she has already been relocated elsewhere which I believe will work out better for her. Anyway, I made her this necklace and earring set for a going away present.

My tree

I took this picture of my redbud tree because I do not have any time to write my blog because I am too busy writing a bunch of stuff that I really do not want to write and cannot imagine anyone wanting to read all that much either. I like this tree because it came up all by itself.

Cat Or a Rat

Is he a cat or a rat? Is he a thief that gives me grief? Should I have given him a home? Should I have left him alone? Well, obviously, I did give him a home but he is a thief. I am talking about Nigel, of course. But, he is just about the cutest thing I have ever seen in spite of all of his mischief making. He stole this Jo-Ann's sale ad out of my purse which I did not realize until I found it shredded in the corner. Paper makes him crazy. He is out to destroy all paper on Earth. It is his mission.

S-P-R-I-N-G

The completed Spring banner comes together. After reviewing my banner, I learned some things about myself. There are some unintentional themes in the banner that are not really all that surprising. First of all, there is the obvious 'animal, bird, insect' or 'wild life' theme going on. If a cat did not show up in an artwork piece designed by me, people would assume I was sick or had fallen and smacked my head. Secondly, I seem to gravitate toward bright colors. Thirdly, the heart symbol shows up at least one time in every banner. Again, not surprising as heart cut gemstones are my favorite. Is banner making a form of psychotherapy? Again, I am not surprised by the recurrent themes. I am only suprised that they appeared since they happened subconciously. By the way, I am not leaving the scotch tape on the wall for hanging the banner. That is only temporary. When I get ready to hang my banner permanently, it will be attached in a more eye pleasing fashion! When my craft room is completed, I will hang it there minus the scotch tape and post an updated picture here.

"G" Banner

This is my completed "G" Banner for the Spring Banner Challenge hosted at Lisa's site Simple Journeys. The challenge for this banner was gems. The cat has a gem collar...naturally.

"N" Banner

This is my completed "N" Banner for the Spring Banner Challenge. The challenge for this banner was needlework. The little donkey has a needlework yellow flower to munch on just in case he is hungry. We must always think of the little ones!

"I" Banner

This is my completed "I" Banner for the Spring Banner Challenge. See my "inchie" in the center of the banner. Looks like the grass might be on fire outside of the window! No, it is okay, it is only a patch of flowers.

"R" Banner

Above, the red tabby was determined to make his way into the banner one way or another.

To the right, you will see my completed "R". It has various round/circular items on it. It still has the 'primitive' quality to it.
