Abstract

I saw something like this at Starbuck's today except it was quite large. While I was waiting for my skinny cafe latte, I sat and stared at that wall hanging wondering what I could do if I tried my hand at it. Honestly, I have to say, mine is prettier than the one I saw today...at least to my taste, that is. Taste...that is an odd concept to me. I watch HGTV shows about house hunting. I have noticed some prefer new while some prefer old. Everyone is different that way. Some see granite counter tops and stainless appliances as a "must have". I am not so much into fads that way. Some move to completely opposite ends of the earth. While I am all for moving, I am not so sure I would feel comfortable in an entirely different culture. However, I do admire those with the courage to give it a try.

Knee High to a School Girl

This was one of those pieces where I started with a background, then, looked for something to go on it. I had no idea it would be about school when I began it. Something about my 70's looking girl caused me to think of school. It could have been the knee high socks. Something about orange makes me think of the 70's also, therefore, I had to punch some of it in there. She is doing some writing, geometry and some socializing. Are those not most of the necessary elements?

Easter Frock

Why do you suppose this lady has a picture of a bunny couple on her wall? Is this a wall in her own house or is she visiting the bunny couple? Perhaps they are her parents. What do you think? Whatever the case, they all seem to be snappy dressers.

Finding My Style Saturdays

Just a little something I created to represent city nights....I really like 'Finding My Style' better than any other category. It is fun to find your style!

Finding My Style Saturdays

More and more as I do these digi pieces, I find my style. At first, I was just trying to figure out what did what. As a result, I would throw the entire kitchen sink into the mix. Now, I concentrate a little bit more on composition, using the brushes in a free style way and a little less on the mechanics of the PS software. Of course, there is still a tremendous amount for me to learn about the mechanics. All in all, I have had a great lot of fun with PS. Thanks, Lisa, for turning me on to this hobby! This piece harkens back to that phase I went through when I was going to move to California about 10 years ago. The reason I have never been able to 'find' myself is because myself is always changing. A chameleon, I am. I should do a self portrait.
