Christmas Tidings

This Sugar Plum Fairy brings you Christmas Tidings. My Sugar Plum Fairy is trying to keep warm in the garage.

I love Charles Dickens most particularly "The Christmas Carol". We have a family tradition of watching "The Christmas Carol" starring George C. Scott every Christmas Eve. I loved it for so many years but when my niece grew up loving it too, I was so very happy. She and I have many traits in common. I know that must make her 'cringe'. It is an odd feeling that I know parents must have. It is wonderful to see your traits in a younger generation yet you hope these same traits are more honed and refined in these younger ones than they were in yourself. What I am saying is, I am flattered that my niece possesses many traits like myself yet I hope she becomes so much more than I ever was. I hope she can take these traits to more auspicious heights.

Do you like my new house shoes? Nigel cannot take his eyes off of them. He is constantly studying them. While I sleep, he carries them off. I think he fears a new animal has overtaken his mother's feet.

This or That?

I am an animal lover. (tee hee hee, what an understatement!) ANYWAY, my mom recently lived at a facility out in the country for almost 3 months. One of the nice aspects of this facility is that it looked out on a ranch. We would watch the cows going to eat when their Dad (is that the correct term to use for the man that feeds the cows?) would come to feed them every evening. The little calves were so cute! I started wanting a calf. I even began to fantasize about keeping one in my backyard. My backyard is "kind of" big relatively speaking anyway. I mean it is bigger than a bread box. ANYWAY again, my mom did mention to me that me getting a baby calf was probably not the "best" idea since there is probably some city code about it. I would never let a small thing like that stand in the way though. I "kind of" got past the idea. Then, Sunday I met a baby donkey. He was at church just fraternizing with the parishioners. His name was Poncho. ANYWAY again, I want a baby donkey now. So which will it be? A calf or a baby donkey? Decisions, decisions.
Will it be this?
Or will it be that?

Trains

I love trains. I like to ride them and I love to listen to them. I love the sound of their wheels going over the rails. I especially love the sound of their whistles. I love to hear a train in the distance at night blowing its whistle. I have a long walk from my car into my work place. It is almost one mile. Anyone working in a downtown environment can relate to that walk, I am sure. During my walk, I observe many sites but the most fascinating is that I walk adjacent to a railroad track and I can watch the trains. At this point in the picture, they are very close to the train yard therefore are going very slow, doing a lot of switching of tracks, etc. It is very fascinating but most of all I love the sounds of the trains.
