Race for the Cure

Saturday morning, I walked 3 miles in the Race for the Cure!!! Our team raised almost $2500. To see all of the survivors, those currently undergoing chemo, and others in various stages of recovery is very emotional. However, you know while you are walking that a cure will be found soon because it MUST be found. We have lost too many beautiful women (and men too) because of this illness but soon we will never lose anyone to this disease ever again. Photo is compliments of Carol. (I forgot to take my camera.) Carol had her own Police protection. Our sweet friend, Leslie who you see on the left in the picture has friends high up in the FW Police Department. (Her Mom is the Police Chief!)

Bracelet Hey Day!

Did you ever see so many bracelets in all of your born days?? We made these bracelets for all of the ladies who have been giving Carol moral support for the past 6 months while she has been undergoing chemo. It isn't much. It is just a token to show them we love them too and appreciate everything they have done for our dear, Carol. I think the boxes for the bracelets really turned out pretty!

Quilt Update

Sometime back I posted a picture of a pieced, unfinished quilt. Well, now I have the finished picture to post. I think it is very beautiful! I am very proud to be able to give it as a gift to my friend, Carol who is bravely battling breast cancer. Each heart was submitted by one of her dear female friends. Shelly and I made this quilt for Carol to hang and think about all the women who love her while she is recovering from her surgery. After all, that is what friends are for, right?

Cat Heaven

These are a couple of pictures of life's other side. This is the side I do not know about because I am always working to support them. Oh well, I asked for it, right? I do not think either of them really want to ever go back to living in the fence especially Nigel who is very afraid of thunderstorms.

Hats, Handbags and Heels

Voila! Please see my completed HHH Banner! I love it. Go to Lisa's site Simple Journeys to see my banner's sisters. They are all beautiful. After reading Linda's post, I realized I need to expound some on the banners. From left to right...
  • Linda's-Don't you just love the black? I really do! Plus, I really like that sassy lady with her sassy shade-wearing puppy. (zoom in to see that)
  • Cindy L's-This banner has a deco feel to it which I love. She placed a hair pin in the lady's hair which gives it a most elegant appearance.
  • Lisa's-This pennant contains something of everything most women consider to be beautiful. Perfume, heels, handbags, hats, lipstick, flowers. Plus, both Lisa and Amy have some of the most sparkley type embellishment on their banners that I have ever seen anywhere. Whatever that sparkling medium is...I love, love, love it!
  • Mine-My pennant is a depiction of a royal person shopping in London. She is even wearing her crown for a hat. Plus, you know how the queen is always carrying that large handbag around that supposedly is empty? Well, my lady has one too!
  • Amy's-Last but by no means, least. More of that sparkley medium on the handbag and teacup. This pennant makes me feel like I am at an early 1900's tea party. Music is playing and petite fours are being served. Tres chic, Amy!

Try Waking Up to This at 5 A.M.

Obviously, I forgot to lock up the paper towels last night and look what I woke up to this morning! Nigel had a paper killing field day! Paper towels are too expensive for this. Needless to say at 5 a.m. when I discovered this disaster, I was not feeling very friendly toward the little guy. Surprise, surprise though, I still love him! While I was picking it all up, he sat in between the refrigerator and cabinet intensely staring, acting as if that paper was going to jump up and attack me.

Evil paper must be destroyed.

Claude Visits Paris

As some of you know, I am participating in a Banner Swap. This is a banner that I did while making the other five banners for the swap. The theme for our Banner Swap was Hats, Handbags and Heels. This banner I made just for myself depicting my cat, Jean-Claude (Claude for short) visiting Paris and shopping for hats, handbags and heels until his little furry, heart is content. I think he looks very happy in this depiction. I especially love how he is tippy-toeing around in those heels.
